What are adventure games?
Adventure games are about going somewhere and seeing what's there: a forest at night, open country from the air, the next hill. They're less about score and more about the trip.
Skyreach lets you fly over open terrain, and Night Swarm takes you into the dark to survive until dawn.

Are there open world games?
Skyreach is the closest: open terrain to fly over freely.
Do adventure games save?
Yes, progress saves in your browser.
Can I make an adventure game?
Yes, best as one place and one goal rather than a long story; the maker builds the world and the quest.
